Gmail IMAP Support

I noticed Google were slowly rolling out IMAP support for the Gmail accounts, and that I got mine today (may have been earlier in fairness...I only checked about 15 minutes ago).

Although I'm not going to use it yet, based on 1 thing:

I use POP3 from Outlook 2007, and I've created a rule which deletes emails that I've sent to people, so that way, I only have the emails I actually want to read in my inbox.

Problem is that if I use IMAP, those emails will be deleted from my Gmail account as well, which I don't want them to be, so that's just no good!

Unless there becomes some sort of option to turn this off, or a workaround, or I just give up caring, then I won't be using IMAP just yet.
