Creating A Home Server

I was looking at the Windows Home Server details earlier, and was going to try it out with an old PC, but the system requirements say you have to have at least 80GB on the hard drive.

So I figured I'd install Ubuntu on this PC and share 2 folders with read/write permissions over the network (1 for me and 1 for my brother).

So the PC is pretty rubbish - 1GHz CPU, 256Mb RAM, and a 20Gb HDD. Which is split into 5Gb for the system, 1.7 for the /home directory, and then 13Gb partitioned as FAT32 for our Windows machines to read.

It's going ok so far, still installing. I'll post again with more details, because I'm not quite sure how to set up the shared folders with password's etc :P
