Ubuntu 7.10 64-Bit

I'm just about to install the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon), and I put the disc in while I was still in Ubuntu, and I noticed something strange on the root of the disc. There's a file called wubi-cdboot.exe and I can't figure out why it's there, because as far as I know, Ubuntu doesn't officially support Wubi.

If anybody could shed some light on this it'd be nice Also bear in mind it's one of the official pressed CD's

Office 2007 Disc’s

As I mentioned earlier I received the disc's for Microsoft Office 2007 earlier, and I didn't expect them to be full retail versions of the disc's or anything, I expected OEM versions. Either way, the first disc is all fancy and what-not (there's an image below) and the 2nd is just a plain silver disc.

Windows Vista Service Pack 1

I'm currently using Vista Service Pack 1, and I have to say...it's not much different.

I'm well aware that there's many change's 'behind the scenes' which make improvements here and there. But to the end user, there's not really much difference, except the disappearance of the "Search" option on the Start Menu.

I also have service pack 1 for Office 2007 (Ultimate Edition) and I haven't really noticed anything different about that. Speaking of Office, I received my back-up disks today I only wanted them because I knew they'd be official printed disk's

South Africa

Had to play at the Baptist Church this evening. Went alright, messed up one song, but it was fine.

Got a shock afterwards when the minister (privacy and whatnot means I won't name anybody...sorry, lol) asked me what I thought about going to South Africa.

Didn't get what he meant at first, but it's July next year, basically missionary work etc. Not sure if I want to go...though it would be an experience. Anyway, enough of that, I'm sleepy.

Before I start - I installed Server 2003, and it's up and running, so far so good

Anyway, I actually got some post today, although it wasn't anything that I've been waiting for for about 2 weeks now, it was something that I've been waiting for, for about 5 days. Take that into account AND it was posted from the US (L.A in fact) and then it raises some serious issues with the Royal Mail, I mean, I know there was that postal strike not so long ago, but still, I ordered these things AFTER the strike, so surely they shouldn't be affected by it?

It's just annoying

Windows Server 2003

So my University is part of the MSDN Academic Alliance, which basically means that I get Microsoft software for free!!

So the point of this post as I'm sure you can tell is that I'm downloading Windows Server 2003 to try out on an old PC, which only just meets the minimum system specs, but nevertheless, it's a PC that doesn't need to be in perfect working order all the time.

If it works it should be quite good and I'll look at converting another PC into a server (one that has a bit more Spec's) possibly even using Windows Home Server instead.

Games On My Laptop

I saw Black and White 2 sitting in my room earlier, and check the back, because I've not played it in ages. I noticed the system requirements, and the fact the, except for not having a dedicated graphics card, my laptop was far above them.

So I decided to install it, thinking that if it doesn't work I can always just uninstall it, no big deal.

It worked! It runs really smoothly as well, quicker than it ever did on my desktop PC. Although the graphics options are turned down to low. Other than that, all is good, so I'm just installing The Sims 2 (I installed Theme Park World as well, which is a great game, I love it). Also installed C&C Generals + Zero Hour, which ran on full graphics lol, but I removed them, because I won't play it.
