I'd figured it was an earthquake (houses don't shake that often so...) and I had a flick on the news channels on TV, sure enough on Sky News, it was being reported that there was an earthquake felt in Leicestershire (my region) and other places across the UK.

This was somewhat good news, because I knew I wasn't imagining it. Further reading this morning tells me that it was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake. And we don't get many that size here in the UK.
